Last weekend we decided to make a trip up to see Zach and Jenelle's family up in Republic, Washington! It was a 9 hr car ride both ways! Luckily we now have portable DVD players! Carter watched movies the whole time and played with his little guys! It wasn't that bad of a drive at all. It was very pretty! You drive through roads that reminded us of the roads on the dry farms in Rexburg! Just baron with huge open fields. The only difference is the roads were amazing they were paved well and were very smooth! Another bonus no cops! We only saw one cop the entire drive and it was just as we entered Oregon. The down side to the drive was that it rained the majority of the time there and the entire time on the ride back. It was nail biting, both of our hands hurt from Sean gripping the steering wheel so tight and me holding onto the seat belt tightly! Overall though our trip was fantastic. Full of lots to do, see, and eat (thanks to Jenelle)! We felt like we got everything in, in the short amount of time we were there. So it was worth it. It is always fun to visit with family. Here are some pictures of other things we did while there.
Corbin, Lillian, and Carter eating breakfast!
Sean had this brilliant idea to have a jousting tournament. It was hilarious. Carter had no clue what to do but laughed every time Corbin would hit him with the sword! What a good sport.
Carter rode of Zach's back.

The Republic reminded me a lot of the look of Island park. Lots of trees and wildlife with houses scattered about. This picture was taken basically in Zach's backyard. They live right up against a State Park and the deer go there and hang out. Tons and tons of them. It was awesome to see. Another cool thing was when we woke up right in their front yard three deer were just hanging out eating the grass and the leaves off the trees.

Here we were walking through down town Republic and the Deer were just chillin in all the yards. I would to if I were a Deer in hunting season. The Deer just to the right of Carter and Sean is a 4 point I think. Just relaxing.

Now we are carving pumpkins! Sean doing the dirty work.
(I just couldn't get a picture of Sean with his eyes open!!)
Carter and I carving out the design. Our camera died before we could get the final
product, but we carved a spider web with a spider hanging down.
We also went and pressed apples into apple juice! There is no apple juice that compares to the real thing straight off the press. It was super good! We took home a 2 liter bottle of it and it was gone within a day! We had a great time! Thanks Zach and Jenelle for your hospitality, we loved spending time with you!
